Croatia is made for outdoor weddings — from Dalmatian olive groves and vineyards to gardens and seaside terraces. An open-air setting brings incredible atmosphere, but it asks for a few more decisions than a hall.
Match the location to the season
Midday summer heat and strong wind can spoil even the loveliest spot. Think about the time of day (late afternoon is the most forgiving) and look for natural shade or room for parasols.
Always have a rain plan
This is the single most important question for any outdoor space: is there a covered area, a marquee or a hall everything can move into? Without a convincing plan B, an open-air wedding is a gamble.
Don't forget the logistics
- Power and lighting — the evening needs illumination and enough outlets.
- Sound — audio disperses outdoors; check the gear with your vendor.
- Toilets and parking for guests if the location is remote.
- Permits — beaches and public spaces often require permission.
